Winner #235 has been notified

We try to be as eco-conscious as possible in our home. Some adjustments have been fairly easy (switching to cloth diapers), and others weren't (making my own laundry soap). Even though some eco-friendly choices haven't worked out for me, I'm still always on the lookout for ways to green up our lifestyle.
I was offered the opportunity to try out a new line of paper products by SCOTT, called SCOTT Naturals. The line features four paper products, each with differing amounts of post-consumer recycled fiber. The paper towels and bath tissue are also packaged in post-consumer recycled plastic. We tried the bath tissue, which I thought wasn't quite soft enough. What can I say? I'm a TP snob. The paper towels were rougher than the brand I normally buy, but I think I can definitely make the switch to SCOTT Naturals towels, since they are more eco-friendly. We also tried the napkins, which were quite soft.
If you're interested in making bigger eco-friendly changes in your home, SCOTT Naturals has that covered. They teamed up with Kahi Lee to produce a series of short videos focusing on home remodeling the green way. You can check out the SCOTT Naturals Green Done Right YouTube channel for more information.
**WIN IT**
To celebrate the National Launch of SCOTT Naturals, I have a Green Gift Bag for one lucky winner. This reusable tote will be full of SCOTT Naturals product coupons, a reusable water bottle, green light bulbs, and cleaning products from Clorox Green Works.
To enter, leave a comment letting me know one step you've taken to "go green" in your home.
To earn extra entries:
1. Share this giveaway on any social media site (Twitter, Facebook, etc).
2. Blog about this giveaway.
Please leave a separate comment for each thing you do.
Comments will close at midnight, September 6. Winner will be chosen by random.org drawing and notified by e-mail. Winner will have 48-hours to claim prize. Giveaway open to US addresses only.
Blogger was provided with SCOTT Naturals bath tissue, towels, and napkins to do this review.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 239 Newer› Newest»I am slowly getting switched over and trying to be as green as possible-we have been looking at a new car and are going for a hybrid, when we get new appliances we look for energy efficient. I admit its a challenge, one thing I do lack in is the chemicals right now. I have switched over the bulbs and unplug and have shower savers. I want something to left around for my grandkids and great grandkids.
To go green, we no longer use paper napkins or paper towels...just cloth. :)
We have been buying almost exclusively at Whole Foods and the local farmer's market!
Thank you for the giveaway :)

Every light bulb and appliance in our house are energy efficient. Plus we recycle.

I JUST RECEIVED IN THE MAIL MY VERY FIRST REUSABLE GROCERY TOTE! I'M SO PROUD OF MY FIRST STEP TO GETTING AWAY FROM PLASTIC.
allegro966(at)yahoo(dot)com
I started to recycle. I got the recycling program for our apartment building and now I can recycle all those things I was throwing away. It feels good to know I am doing at least a little bit of good and then all those who live here can too. We fill 5 large dumpsters every week here.
we have started using the spiral light bulbs scooter7018@aol.com
we recycle, use much less water. eco friendly water bottles, natural cleaning products. amsbolda@hotmail.com

bought stainless steel bottles for my family of 5 to stop the plastic bottle abuse

One step? OK, we compost everything imaginable - including dryer lint.
We have made great strides to becoming green. We are using almost all green light bulbs now. We recycle almost everything, in fact we have more recyclables on trash day than we have non recyclables.
We hang all our laundry outside (weather permitting) and we have changed all of our light bulbs to compact flourescents
I have bought the kids and husband and myself metal drinking bottles to fill with water so we don't have to buy bottled water anymore.
We recycle, take cloth bags to the grocery store, and switched over all of our light bulbs!
I switched to CFL and can't believe how much it saved on the electric bill. I also try to remember to take my cloth bag when shopping but I usually forget. I need to get one that folds up smaller so I can keep it in my purse.

First was getting the trash to half size: compost vegies, recycle, reuse, use cloth totes instead of paper or plastic, find a corporation that takes more than the county recycles like Whole Foods takes #5. Organize before using the car, so one trip does multiple errands. Plug into the GPS where I have to go and let it decide the route.
Knowing that every bit helps.

One thing I will not do is stop using paper towels. They are best to use for handwashing in the kitchen so that you do not have bacteria breeding on a cloth towel for days. I will use a green paper towel when I can and would love to try Scott's brand.
I use reusable bags for shopping and recycle regularly.
let's see we joined the local recycling program. We also have started to use reusable bags when we go to the store.mavans@scottsboro.org

We recycle aluminum cans - way too many of them

Recycling and conserving has become part of our everyday lives. I have gone green in many ways and am always looking for more ways to continue. Some are really strange, like useing shreded paper and the cardboard from my waterbottles in the cat box instead of tradtional liter. Yes waterbottles(sorry but our town still doesn't met water regulation standards so for my family's health we don't drink tab water)...however we recycle those bottles at a recycling center along with tin, aluminum, office paper and envelopes, newspaper, magizines, and cardboard. We have went to the new light bulbs and have been composting. I use simple green cleaner too. I hope to continute to learn more ways to help our enviorment.
We buy only green cleaning products.
