Any woman who has been through pregnancy will tell you that sleep is elusive as you approach your due date. It doesn't matter how tired you think you are, your body hits the mattress and suddenly your bladder is full, your hips ache, your back hurts and the baby starts tapping on your ribs like so many piano keys. So when offered the opportunity to test out a few Tempur-Pedic pillows I was pretty excited. Normally, I wouldn't have been so excited about pillows. But at this point, anything that promises to give me a better night's rest is worthy of a celebration, in my opinion.
I'm sure you've heard of Tempur-Pedic. They did those commercials with a woman jumping on the bed and a glass of water that never spilled.....
Remember?
Tempur-Pedic was originally designed for astronauts, but eventually made it into the retail market. Its special design is supposed to cradle your body, giving the right amount of support just where you need it. This helps eliminate pressure points, aches and pains, and stress...giving you a better night's rest. Tempur-Pedic's line of pillows are of the same design. I was sent the The ComfortPillow and The NeckPillow to test.
The NeckPillow is designed to give you proper spinal alignment while you sleep. I know it's a little weird looking compared to a traditional pillow. The box said this pillow can help reduce snoring, so I gave it to my husband. (oh, yes I did). After the first night he hated it. He grabbed his old pillow the second night and didn't want any part of The NeckPillow again. I tried it, and have to tell you, it wasn't working for me either. Inexplicably, The NeckPillow returned the third night, and my husband has slept on it ever since. He says it took him about a week to really get used to it, but now he likes it. He told me that using The NeckPillow made his neck and shoulders feel incredibly relaxed, and he never even realized they were tense in the first place! And the snoring? Not completely gone, but I definitely notice an improvement!
I grabbed The ComfortPillow as my own, and have slept on it every night since. To be completely honest with you here, I still sleep terribly. But I am very pregnant, and I don't know that anything would help at this point. I have so much hip pain that I am tossing and turning at least once an hour. But I can tell you that I don't have the creaky neck syndrome when I wake up anymore. I also don't have to re-fluff my pillow each time I roll over, because The ComfortPillow stays conformed to my head and neck. But I'm a tummy sleeper, so I'm sure I'll love The ComfortPillow even more when I can lay on my belly again.
You can request free information, including a DVD and a sample of Tempur-Pedic material, from their website. Or explore their entire line of mattresses and pillows. You can even purchase Tempur-Pedic products or find a local retailer. So click over today and get ready for a better night's rest!
