The Potato Heads Are Ready For Easter. Are You?

Who doesn't love a Potato Head? My son adores his collection, and plays with them every day. His first Potato Head was the Trick Or Tater last Halloween. Then he acquired a few accessory sets for Christmas. Then I found an original Potato Head at a thrift store for a few dollars. So at any given moment, our Potato Heads are sporting a wide variety of pirate gear, snowman noses, or fangs. You just never know.

Easter is a week away, and, naturally, the Potato Head family is dressed and ready. This year they're sporting adorable bunny costumes complete with ears and bunny slippers. I was provided with a blue Mister Potato Head Spud Bunny (pictured below) for this review.

Like all Potato Heads, the parts and pieces are interchangeable among any of the holes in the Potato Head body. Kids can really let their imaginations loose with this toy, placing arms where the ears should be, or eyes were the arms should be. Potato Heads are also great teaching tools for the parts of the body. When I gave my son his first Potato Head, he spent all day taking it apart and putting it back together, naming the pieces as he went. Even now he'll bring me the Potato Head eyes and tell me "eyes", while holding them close to his own eyes. Or he'll put the teeth up against his own teeth. It's pretty comical, but I appreciate that he's learning something while he's having fun. (and there's no blaring electronic noise to contend with!)

Since there's only so much candy a young child needs, I think a Spud Bunny would be an excellent addition to any Easter Basket. No sugar rush, and the fun lasts much longer than jelly beans. You should be able to find Spud Bunnies at any major retailer where toys are sold. (Spud Bunnies are suitable for children ages two and up)

Did you have a Potato Head when you were little? Have you introduced the Potato Head Family to your own child yet? I'd love to hear!
