I hate the Monday following a holiday weekend. It's always such a drag. An endless day of playing catch-up...wishing I was still having fun with my family and doing holiday things. Who wants to be home tackling laundry and dishes?
My family came to visit this weekend. It was the first I've seen them since Christmas, so it was much needed. We had a fabulous time.....stayed up way too late each night, chatting and just enjoying the company. We did the usual Easter stuff, like coloring eggs, egg hunts, Easter Baskets....but they left this morning and real life fell on top of me. Dishes to tend to, load after load of dirty laundry, Easter candy strewn around the house to avoid pick up. And tears to be shed.
Aiden and I took turns today missing everyone. I fought the tears back and tried to stay busy. Aiden kept asking for everyone by name and looking out the window. We just live entirely too far away from them.

I know how you feel. We live about 3 hours away from my family. They came down on Thursday and left Friday evening and my mom cried her eyes out. I like where were at, but I miss my family a lot.
Oh I know! Mondays are always so tough after a holiday.
